ijen tour from banyuwangi price, mount ijen tour from banyuwangi, ijen blue fire, ijen tour review, ijen crater, banyuwangi to ijen, mount Bromo and mount ijen tour,Ijen crater or Kawah Ijen, as it is known locally is Indonesia's famous sulfur belching volcano. It is here that hundreds of men carry out one of the most gruelling and dangerous jobs in the world. The work at Kawah Ijen begins with a 5km climb up to the crater rim and down to the vent, where the sulfur forms. The sulfur is broken into manageable pieces with nothing more than metal rods. The miners have little to none safety equipment and have to battle the toxic sulfuric fumes which are constantly expelled from the vent. Once the sulfur is broken up, it is loaded into bamboo baskets. The weight of the loads starts at 50kg and sometimes exceed 100 kg. The men carry the sulfur up a winding path of crumbling rocks and sand, a step in the wrong direction can mean death. The reward awaits at Ijen sulfur collection base, where the miners can expect an amount of money considerably larger than anything they'd make from most other jobs in rural Java, Indonesia.

The trekking takes about 1 hour and a half to reach the top of Ijen Plateau. Besides the view from the top of Ijen Plateau, we can see the most outstanding natural phenomenon of Blue flame that comes naturally from the volcano. We should go down to the crater to see the blue flames closer. It’s dangerous but it’s worth it, you just need to listen to your guide and use proper shoes and be fit.

Ijen Crater is one of Indonesia’s leading tourism objects located on the border of Banyuwangi and Bondowoso.

Ijen Crater is crowded with tourists who want to see the Blue Fire phenomenon. This natural phenomenon appears around 2 am to 4 am.

Blue Fire is the result of the reaction of natural gas that meets oxygen at a certain temperature.

Rare, of course. Because the scenery only occurs in two places in the world, Ijen Crater and Iceland.

the best time to visit the Ijen Crater is during the months of July to September, the dry season so the climbing field is safer.

The duration of going up and down the mountain is about four hours, so if you want to see Blue Fire or sunrise, you have to leave early. At 02:00 am it is a favorite time for tourists to climb there.

In addition to the more beautiful scenery, the climbing time in the morning is also safer because there is no gas exploding from the crater.

From the city of Banyuwangi to Pos Paltuding which is the climbing gate of Ijen Crater requires 1.5 hours of driving.

The climb from Paltuding to the summit of Ijen Crater takes a distance of 3.2 km with varying terrain starting from a steep, sloping and flat slope towards the peak.

The following are safe tips for climbing the Ijen Crater:

Adequate eating and rest before climbing.Don’t stay up late.Wear thick clothing to anticipate cold temperatures, especially when doing a midnight climb to see Blue Fire.Wear sports shoes with non-slippery footwear. Also wear headgear, gloves, and especially mouth masks to anticipate sulfur fumes.Must-carry items: raincoat, small flashlight, canned oxygen or medicine for asthma sufferers.Start walking with a rhythm slowly until the rhythm is moderate. It is recommended to take a short break 1-2 times in the middle of the climb.Drinking water can reduce thirst and dry throat due to the influence of sulfur fumes.
